Gonzaga University Remote Commencement Ceremonies
HIGHER EDUCATION
PROJECT DETAILS
Traditionally, graduates are honored each May with Commencement ceremonies, celebrating their incredible achievements as Zags. But with COVID-19, in-person celebrations were no longer possible so the team had to think differently.
“Communication in the time of COVID-19 is very complex. During the summer of 2020, communicating with students and their families about expectations for the new academic year could not have been more important. Sarah’s partnership in the development of three Student Arrival and Return to Gonzaga Guides was instrumental in communication efforts with our constituency groups. Leveraging best practices and lessons learned from other institutions, Sarah was able to lean on her history of support for Gonzaga’s communications strategies with new and inventive tactics and outreach efforts.
Sarah’s knowledge of communication and marketing in the space of higher education and partnership with our teams across campus was instrumental in our success this summer.
Thought leadership communication was critical to positioning the institution as a leader in Higher Education. Coupled with the development of these publications, Sarah supported the campaign to ensure that students acknowledged their risk in attending Gonzaga during this time of COVID and created multiple videos and web content to supplement the publications. Additionally, Sarah’s support around communications for our first-ever remote Commencement ceremonies was very helpful as we worked to navigate this new territory of celebrating our graduates and their families in a very memorable way. Sarah’s knowledge of communication and marketing in the space of higher education and partnership with our teams across campus was instrumental in our success this summer.” – Thayne M.
